Tanya Van Voorst, Au.D. Portrait

Helping patients of all ages to hear to the best of their ability is my passion. I am looking forward to working with you, your child or family member to help find the best hearing solution possible.

Dr. Van Voorst attended The University of Northern Iowa where she earned her BA degree in Communicative Disorders in 2000 and her MA degree in Audiology in 2002. She later went on to obtain her Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) through ATSU Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2009.

Dr. Van Voorst began her career in Minnesota at a private practice but soon moved back to Iowa in 2003 to join the world-renowned cochlear implant team at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC). Dr. Van Voorst worked with UIHC for over 20 years with pediatric and adult patients in diagnostic audiology, evaluating and fitting hearing aid amplification and cochlear implant evaluations and programming. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Van Voorst worked on numerous federally funded and manufacturer funded research studies; including but not limited to cochlear implantation in patients with single sided deafness, cochlear implantation with the goal of hearing preservation (aka electro-acoustic (EAS)/hybrid hearing) and robotic assisted cochlear implantation (iotaMotion).

Dr. Van Voorst is married to her husband Brady and has two children, Ava and Addy. Her family also has a Boston Terrier, Lucy. Dr. Van Voorst enjoys traveling, pickleball, fitness training and reading.
